root 0 Posted September 15, 2004 I wonder how often this guy starts his day this way. Link to comment
afterthoughts 0 Posted September 16, 2004 This is just too much for words. Just a really great image. Link to comment
dbmiller 0 Posted September 16, 2004 I can imagine a highway, pushed right up to the edge of the sea. Link to comment
LenMarriott 9 Posted September 17, 2004 Carl, Great patterns shot thanks, mostly, to the low angle of the sun. Bright area at the top tends to steal the show but I've no solution in mind. The water is a major part in this story. Great framing. Best, LM. Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted September 17, 2004 You wonder how OFTEN he starts his day this way ... I wonder how MUCH he has actually found this way. :-) Interesting shot, Carl! Link to comment
johnorban 0 Posted September 19, 2004 So very well composed. Sorry to have been away for awhile. Link to comment
sammm 0 Posted September 19, 2004 Of course, he's wondering what you're doing up with a camera at this time of day, too, right? Patterns seem to just present themselves to you. Link to comment
root 0 Posted September 20, 2004 Good Point! I wonder if anyone else has ever seen fit to take his picture. Forgive the mundane technical stuff, but I shot most of this session at +1 to try to get some detail in the shadows and to keep the sand away from dull gray. This is the only shot that was too close to the sun's reflection where I got burned . . . literally. I have several others of him, but he's either facing the other direction, you can't see the metal detector, or there's no water. Link to comment
1000wordsphotography 0 Posted September 21, 2004 A 7 for originality. This one is a gem. Link to comment
salvatore.mele 1 Posted September 21, 2004 I understand the burn-out top part is the price to pay for shooting at such an angle to get that outstanding reflection off the metal detector, so I am happy to see it. The pattern games in the image are just great... it's really amazing to see how his steps cross the vehicle traces, and the way the joggers/walkers traces higher closer to the sea seem to belong to a different world altogether.
