Thats is a big Rock!!

Oh! You cought me on this one... I won't be objective, there are too many feelings in my heart related to the Cap (long climbs!). Nevertheless, I presume you shot is in early morning and I think B&W was an excellent choice. I like it so much!!!

Excellent composition. Unfortunately, no details in the trees, at least on my monitor. The use of a graduate density filter (ND 0.9) would have significantly improved this shot. However, I love this sunrise location.

The exposure is a bit of a problem. The trees are a totally textureless black which deadens the picture quite a bit. It looks lie you had plenty of room for more exposure, so you might want to work on that aspect of your photography a bit. The Zone System is very helpful.

I forgot to add that it's a nice photo. Keep taking pictures!

Don't you just love Yosemite?! Thank you all for your comments and critiques. This was actually a color silde converted to black and white. The scan was not the greatest quality,therefore I lost some detail. Thank you for the advice on the exposure, I am always looking for help. I do have b&W negatives in 35mm as well as medium format that I am still working on getting scanned.
