niranjn 0 Posted August 26, 2004 As always, the key question is "does this photo work?", but I would also appreciate technique-oriented comments. Link to comment
eric_fredine 0 Posted November 10, 2004 It works for me. The perspective is somewhat novel and slightly disorienting. And I like that the fence can almost be seen as the trunk of the tree. Well done. Link to comment
rmortenson 0 Posted November 22, 2004 It feels like you are trying to do two things at once with this photo. The top branches would have been quite nice on their own. If you wanted to include the bottom row as well, I think it would have been better with a wider view. Oh, and thank you for your insightful critiques. I look forward to more of your photos. dominiquedodge 0 Posted January 29, 2005 When I first looked at it I thought the fence was steps down the side of a wall (like on a huge industrial storage tank) with the branches hanging down. So an interesting perspective. I was tempted to crop into a portrait format but in the end think this might be better. You could "whiten" the snow in curves or other, this would make it more graphic (bold). Did you take any others of this same scene? (wish I was there!) Link to comment
niranjn 0 Posted January 31, 2005 Thanks Dominique. I took a bunch of shots, but this was the best of the lot (IMHO). I cropped out a bit from the left and right. Probably a 50mm focal length. You are right, there is a strong blue cast. I'll try to remove some of it in PS. Link to comment
