jos www.inpix.biz 0 Posted August 25, 2004 The sharpness of the forground reeds contrast the soft and misty distance. Just a wonderful B&W photo!!! I Love how the sun only shows in the water, a clever use of this open space. Link to comment
pablo wünsch blanco 0 Posted August 25, 2004 Great image. A bit more contrast in the bottom part will increase the drama. IMO. Great work. Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted August 28, 2004 Great mood with misty light mirroring in the water. Shape of the tree is helping a lot the aesthetic of the image. My only question is on the cropping possibilities: I would have eliminate a 1/5 of the lower side too to make it squarer which can work better IMO but still I find the lower right crop a bit tight, like a cut in the middle of the grass. karel 0 Posted August 28, 2004 Thanks all for you kind comments. Sorry to be late with my replies to your critiques, I am a newbie here and was figuring out how to do it :-) Link to comment
karel 0 Posted August 28, 2004 Thanks for commenting. Here is the shot with increased contrast in the bottom. It does increase the drama and I like it. But I'm still unsure whether I prefer it over the original. I think the scene has a kind of silent and peaceful feeling; a more contrasted foreground seems to disrupt a little bit this feeling. What do you think? Link to comment
karel 0 Posted August 28, 2004 There was huge log on the foreground just right of the delicate grass. It completely disrupted the scene. Cropping it out unfortunately also cropped part of the grass. I too am not very happy with the cropping there. Here is another shot, taken a little back and to the left. There are fewer elements on the foreground and the cropping is cleaner... Link to comment

photos of hans koot 0 Posted August 28, 2004 The first has in spite of the cleaner foreground of the second a better balance. I would be happy with both. Link to comment
