Landrum Kelly 65 Posted August 31, 2004 David, I have the E-20, which is essentially the same camera, but I don't get results like this. You obviously do superior post-processing work, in addition to getting good compositions in the first place. Link to comment
david_solomon 0 Posted September 2, 2004 I do uite a bit of post processing. I use jasc paint shop pro 8.1.I first balnce the colr to bring it at about 5500, then contrast enhase usually flat - normal-light to dark depending on how the image looks , I then clarify the image to look at contrast. I then save the image adding another number, and process it in Neat Image, I generally accept their defaults and save the filtered image. I go back to pspro and smoth image useing edge detection smooth and then sharpen the image. To frame I select edges and use 3 pixxel all around edge and select fro a color in the face usally the lightest area and then select edges again and select about 70-130 pixel black edge, and you see the results. Landrum Kelly 65 Posted September 2, 2004 Thanks, David. I have PSP 7, but I haven't tried many of these, and don't even know if my version has all of them. I did try some of these after reading this but can't find quite all of those commands on the menu. I probably should try to get Neat Image, since I see a lot of persons referring to it, but I can't afford to buy anything right now. Clearly this is an area of expertise that would take a lot of practice, and a lot of the techniques that I have used for landscapes simply don't work when it comes to portraits. Again, thanks for your help. Link to comment
david_solomon 0 Posted September 3, 2004 Neat image has a home version that is free and can be downloaded from their site. PSP 7 has all of the filters I use alson except not in order like PSP8. Select photo filters on PSP7. There you should find color balance, contrast enhansement, there may be another section called adjust for brightness and contrast Link to comment
ramthakur 0 Posted September 7, 2004 Your children's portraits are marvellous, David. I particularly like this one for its candidness. Link to comment
