Can you provide some additional information, I mean that is this the highlight of a long project, so that you have tried to get a shot like this, or was it just a fast action, that you noticed this bird and tried to get a shot?

I don't care which way you did it, but I'm only curious, I don't know much about nature photography.

From the projected shadow of the fish on the wing, it looks like you used a flash; is this observation correct? If so, how close was the bird?

Thank you for your commnets.No flash used , the bird is lit buy a evening setting sun.It took me a full week 8 hrs per day to get this shot and some others.
