A larger presentation would have been more effective. From what I can see this is a very nice scenic.

A nice scene. The branch iat the top of the frame is distracting, IMO perhaps getting rid of it, or using the entire branch, connecting with the trunk of the tree as a framing device might add to it. i.e. bending down a bit to get the top of the shore and the branch framing the scene.

Pam,

Your photo #2 is much better. Simplicity goes a long way in landscapes...just look at Ansel Adams...while there might be a lot of depth in his photos, the compositions are all fairly simple and clean.
