In the eyes of a child

waldeck_schutzer

Tamron 28-200mm, +4, tripod, digital alteration in Photoshop. The original is a picture of my older daughter's left eye taken in a bright, sunny afternoon. The Photoshop manipulation consists in stacking a series of adjustment layers on top of the cropped original. Because the original is a little bit too warm, I used a desaturation layer to slightly cool it down and obtain more pleasingskin tones. Next I used a hue adjustment layer to change the color of the iris to blue. This because I had promised my daughter I would show her what she would look like if she had blue eyes. I still prefer her beautiful brown eyes. On top of everything I put a layer containing the world map which I had warped and shrinked so that it would fit, and set the mode to overlay with 82% of transparency. After a border was added, the result was the picture above. I would very much appreciate your comments and also your ratings on this picture.

I ususally don´t like digitally manipullated images unless they are done with taste and creativity (for example creating the perfect picture to add something that wasn´t there at the time of the picture taking) but in this case I loved the results, you can clearly see it was manipulated but the result is very neat and armonic.

I like the image, but it bothers me a little bit that the left most bit of the tear duct is missing... Still a really great image, though...

I first saw the smallest version of this image and was going to comment that the emerald reflections in the eye made the shot. Then I viewed the larger version and noticed the world in the iris. Liked it even more. Very unique.

Probably everyone has done this but I do like the reflections (dreams) in the eyes... it hints at imagination for the subject and makes me wonder what he or she sees.
