You brought up an interesting point James. I copied your image into PS CS and the difference between the two is remarkable. I'll have to investigate this as I recently calibrated my monitor and am not sure why the big difference between the images viewed in IE and PS.

Mystery solved. I found that my PS color settings for my working space were set for Dot Gain 20% for grey. I changed to the default windows gamma of 2.2 and now the images match. Go figure. It only was evident on greyscale images. Now that we match your original image looks ok. What a difference a tweak makes. Sorry for the runaround. I'm glad though that I caught this as I'm doing more b&W myself and all of my images would have been off had I not corrected this. Thanks.

I do often wonder if people (myself included) have their monitor adjusted properly. I do the best I can without expensive equipment.

I wonder as well. And as far as expense goes, it helps to have relatives in the graphics arts business. I can borrow for free :)

Quit nit picking. I like the compistion and I am sure a print would be better looking than what appears on different moniters..right?
