clauder 0 Posted August 11, 2004 Not at all what we are used from you, but once again you prove your enormous talent and eye! Very very nice! Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted August 11, 2004 Beautiful tones. The brightness of her eyes, complimented by the background colour, really draws you into this and creates a striking, yet mellow effect. Link to comment
jay_dixon 0 Posted August 11, 2004 Extrmely strong. highlights are a bit bright, but it doesn't distract a great deal. Captivating. Link to comment

mg 0 Posted August 12, 2004 I find very surprising to see here, as in many other places on the site, that portraits are, generally rated lower in originality than landscapes. Even the most basic and unoriginal landscapes would be for ever visible in the TRP as long as colors flash. Now here is an absolutely original portrait of a bright nature with strong colors, with an absolutely unusual pose (and a risky one, at that), as well as a wonderfully curved hair falling just right, and since it looks commercial, it's boring for many. People should perhaps remember that in such cases, the photographer is in total control of the situation and has very little variations to play with: yes, due to what a portraiture is, it's "just" a face - but what a face, why this back, which lighting set-up, etc, those are the things to watch. In my view this portrait is VERY original, in a subtle way... As for aesthetics, the make-up, the curvy hair, the facial expression and the light on the face and hair are outstanding. A few nits maybe... 1. The edge of the hair at left is a bit "messy" and should imo be combed properly. 2. I feel the pose of the back is still not really perfect, or maybe could work better if the light was not hitting the whole back almost equally - more volume, better. This being said, the strong points are really very strong, and since it is the first portrait of this kind I have seen from you, I'd say it's a great surprise - and a very good one. Let's see more of this kind - even though I like many of your dark portraits too. Cheers. Link to comment
wilsontsoi 0 Posted August 12, 2004 Love the way the S line is formed with her hair and shoulder. Quite fluid. Beautifully lit. A bit of a departure from your awesome collection; a lighter, more innocent, yet glamourous appeal. Link to comment
sterling hein 0 Posted August 12, 2004 Love the composition and the colors. A little less highlights around the nose would make it more defined rather than having a bright, ambiguous spot over the area. Link to comment
