The contrast between the textures on the rock and the smoothness of the skin is excelent. I wonder why you cropped of part of her hand though... the palm of her hand might have made for a strong startingpoint. I might even have included her legs too... very nice tones here as well. The light shines beautifully on her cheek, neck breast and legs, yet not as fiercely as it shines on the rocks... great contrast really!

Thank you, Julien. The crop was the result of a sort of compositional experiment - to allow the main subjects to reach the edge (there was also more shiny rock in the original frame) in order to put the viewer right into the scene - ie so close that you couldn't look at the whole scene in one go and therefore can not neatly define the region of interest -which you naturally try to do. The framing therefore forces you into the role of participant rther than observer.

 

Generally photographers try to frame the scene so that everything you want to see is included and most of what is not relevent is excluded or carefully arranged as "negative space": the result is a circumscribed objective view. Here I tried to see how little I could miss out while still maintaining the feeling of involvement and this crop seemed to work, for me at least.

Very interesting idea behind the crop here. Quiet different from your usual framing. Minimalising the wondering around of the viewers eyes by applying such a close crop works well I think. Very strong lines in your composition here by the way. It's a beautifull photo.

Hi, I like the way the hands and legs reach beyond the frame and connect the photo from the centre. Anyhow, I love it, excellent tones and balance of hard and soft textures. Moreover I like the Natural feel and relaxed, supine, feel.

The blackness in the midframe is very deep and yet there is so much heat in the photo. The wide angle gives a wonderful feeling.

The Nude on a Rock theme always creates an interesting contrast of lines and textures, and this shot goes even further by having an interesting reflective surface. My only qualm is the cropping of her left hand (finger, actually).

Indeed, Jonathan, I do like it very much. I like the glint of the rock above that suits her clavical and breasts so much to my liking. Naked Beautiful women- Can't go wrong with taking tasteful Black and white of them-
