I've always wanted to make a travel-esque picture by incorpating

elements of travel that everyone will recognize instantly. I could

never figure out how to make shots taken on an airplane work, but I

think this one is the most successful of all attempts. I like the

abstract nature of the picture, the shadows giving defintion to the

window and drawing the viewer's attention to the subjec matter beyond

this 'hole'. I hope to convey a feeling of curiosity; what lies

beyond this window-to-another-world? What do you think?

Hi Shing Yan Lau! That's a very beautiful photograph. It captures the romance of travel!

Crop in

I like your photo. Its close to the best in plane shot that I have seen. I don't like the scratches on the window though and I'd probably crop in tighter. With the black border its just too much dead space.

Thank you allShing Yan Lau, July 28, 2004; 12:31 P.M. (edit) Thank you all for your kind comments. Stephen: I've uploaded a tighter cropped version. I do agree, there was a little too much negative space. A tighter crop improved the asthetics of the image (also changed the border to white to make it pop out).

I like this photo. So often we see shots that do all they can to exclude the elements that you've used. The lighting on the "frame" is very appropriate.
