guillelobera 0 Posted July 18, 2004 Its main facade offers the most well-known stamp to us of the Burgos Cathedral; two twin towers (13th C) decorated with big windows, enhanced with numerous sculptures. They emphasize: a great rosette, whose center is a star of six ends or "seal of Salomon"; in the final stage, under double pierced large window, in the "gallery of the kings", they watch eight enigmatic statues; and, in the last body, the Virgin presides with the Boy, flanked by the legend "Pulc(h)ra es et decora" = You are beautiful and fine. All the facade is adorned with elegant arcades, pinnacles and numerous statues of Biblical personages, angels, saints, bishops and kings. Burgos Cathedral was added to Unesco's World Heritage List in 1984. Link to comment
