paul pinkley 0 Posted July 17, 2004 I really like the lighting in this, very vibrant, the glow from the lighting on top of the building just added that much more emphasis. Well done Alec Link to comment
wilsontsoi 0 Posted July 18, 2004 Very pleasant capture, Alec. Would it be even better to tweak the layering/feathering around the lighthouse to lessen the "aura" (due to PS)? I like all the colors you're able to squeezed out of it! Link to comment
marshall 0 Posted July 18, 2004 Good exposure, showing strong colors against good remaining color in the sky (you shot at the right time, to be sure), and the composition has strong lines. Some presentation details, to my eye, detract from the success of the original shot; mainly that it appears oversharpened and there is the halo around the top of the building that has already been mentioned. Enjoy. Link to comment
photomd 0 Posted July 18, 2004 Impressive night shot. I love the details, perspective and colors. Regards. Link to comment
alecee 0 Posted July 18, 2004 Thanks every for your comments. On a particular note about sharpening from Marshall and Wilson. Yes. It looks oversharpened and the halo around the top of the lighthouse could have been toned down. I must admit I'm still quite new to Adobe PS CS as I work more with Paint Shop Pro 8. But now I think CS is more powerful although both has it's own merits. I try to use it as little as possible to make the image as it is. Thanks again for commenting. Love the discussions and I'm sure many will benefit. Link to comment
