Guest Guest Posted July 7, 2004 And another 5/5 from .[. Z. Amazing. not the typical 3/3 or 3/4 type rating. Now if only he could comment. I would suffer a heart dtroke and die. LOL. Link to comment
tom t 0 Posted July 8, 2004 Nice one Joe. Original point of view. Pity her left hand is cut off, though. Regards, Tom Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted July 8, 2004 More from the Lazy Days of Summer folder. Trying to capture a feel of the relaxed summer months here. Is the hand being cut off a huge problem? Would I be better off cropping the other hand to similar perspective? Link to comment
christopher posey 0 Posted July 8, 2004 Great perspective! So unique that you do not even notice the hand. I dumb question perhaps, but where were you standing to get this shot? Link to comment
daniel rufer 1 Posted July 8, 2004 I like the way the colors are distributed (the red stones, the blue water and the yellow of the swimsuit, they make a nice color-composition). As a consequence, I would have liked the red a bit brighter (more illuminated). As for cropping: I think an exactly symmetrical cropping (right and left hands equal) would enhance the strong symetrical conmposition. I really like the photo, nicely done (and a nice subject too :) Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted July 8, 2004 I was actually standing on the side walk behind her. The shot is upside down. If you flip it over, you can tell a lot more where I was standing. For some reason it becomes very deceptive when flipped. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted July 8, 2004 her eyes and the perspective of the shot really keep one from noticing the cut hand too much or thinking too much of it. I agree with Daniel's comment as for cropping. Knicki Link to comment
afterthoughts 0 Posted July 8, 2004 Well done, good ocmposition, great perspective. Oh yes, nice eyes. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted July 8, 2004 Do you think cutting the hand down to match the opposite side would ruin the symmetry of the shot since it would place her head off center? I thought about it and decided against it. Link to comment
bill_sams 0 Posted July 8, 2004 If you're considering cropping at all...Have you considered an extreme right/left side crop that would result in a portrait-format shot (just outside her ears on both sides, so you don't end up with any of the grout between the tiles showing)? To me, it would make even more of a 3-d look of her upper head coming out of the picture plane...and make her eyes more prominent. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted July 9, 2004 Believe it or not I actually did play with a portrait type crop, but it seems to make her forhead look huge. I could try submitting it and see how it does. Link to comment
