bas1 0 Posted August 5, 2001 I would like to get some feedback on this shot. Especially on the use of light and the tonality range it has given. Link to comment
tmjacobs 0 Posted August 5, 2001 Very cute, although the hair before her eye is a bit distracting as is the hairpin above her ear. Also I think I would have preferred to have her look in the camera. As for tonality: the child could have been a little bit lighter - the colors (from the child) range from dark gray to black which is a bit limited. Link to comment
mjgusa 0 Posted August 5, 2001 I think the tone is pretty good, for what it's worth. If the child were lighter, she'd blend in with the background, especially right next to a black dress. The textured background would minimize the problem to some degree, but Ithink it helps here the way you have it too. She's a cutie. Link to comment
richard_lowery 0 Posted August 5, 2001 ---nice tonal qualities, lighting and composition!!! Link to comment
george_d._gianni 0 Posted August 5, 2001 The composition is very interesting. The fragile and innocent child has a great contrast to the raw background wall. She looks as if she wanted to squeeze herself to the left part of the frame, as if she saw something scary on the right hand side. Very impressive. Link to comment
andy_graham 0 Posted August 22, 2001 imo...the hair adds something..she's a kid outside, being herself..not in some closed in studio and a stiff pose that you get off a pose card...excellent Link to comment
karsten_anderson 0 Posted November 10, 2001 the hair is nice and wispy, i'm assuming it was windy but maybe shooting 2/3 frames / sec you could have picked one w/o that one renegade strand in front of her eye? nice shot :) k Link to comment
patrick_michel_dagenais 0 Posted November 26, 2001 Great execution. If I had a picture like that it would travel through the following generations of my familly. Trully wonderfull. There is an essence to this picture. Link to comment
bas1 0 Posted November 27, 2001 Thanks for your kind comments, I am indeed very proud of my daughter(s) and this shot as well. I am currently redoing the printout. I find the frame is a bit cheapish and it could benefit from better digital dodging and buring here and there. But even in Photoshop is not easy to do but very rewarding. This shot is making me think of getting an other printer and scanner so I can blow it up to A3 size. Link to comment
anne_morgan 0 Posted September 4, 2004 I think this is absolutely precious. My daughters always have wisps of hair around and in their faces, so to ME the hair over your daughter's eye looks completely natural! Beautiful work! Link to comment
