darylspencer 0 Posted June 24, 2004 I hope he was taking off, not landing! Great shot. Link to comment
jeremy_smith 0 Posted June 24, 2004 Nice and steady--you and the pilot. Definitely not taking off or landing, though (no landing gear down). This a P-51? Thanks for sharing! I think you could improve it by rotating it 1 or 2 degrees clock-wise. Link to comment
erin.e 0 Posted June 24, 2004 excellent original capture, I guess you won't need a haircut for a while Mariusz! Link to comment
mariusz adamski 0 Posted June 24, 2004 Brian - Yes, I was standing on the center line of the runway :)) Daryl - It was not take off or landing. It was a fly-by. I falled on the ground like a pancake a second later :)) Link to comment
mariusz adamski 0 Posted June 24, 2004 Jeremy - Thanks, I rotated it. I hope it looks better now. No, it is not P-51. It is Polish Air Force Academy trainer aircraft PZL 130 Orlik. Link to comment
coloursalive 0 Posted June 24, 2004 I think this shot is absolutely brilliant! I'm glad you made it off the runway ;) finely ground is what you would have been if you didnt get the timing right! What in the world were you thinking about? Like I said... Brilliant. And definitely worth the enormous risk! Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted June 24, 2004 Original!, a different kind of "landscape....... Well captured. Pnina Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted June 24, 2004 Great shot! I have a strong wish to duck here and hardly any blurring to be seen! Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted June 24, 2004 I hope you didn't post this from the hospital!! ;-) Very original angle. Bravo! Link to comment
venicia_l 0 Posted June 24, 2004 I would have set up the camera on a tripod and fired it remotely. This obviously was not at an active airfield as this violates half a dozen rules about this sort of thing. It's a brilliant shot, but so dangerous as to be terrifying. The possibility of a tradgedy is enormous - one little mistake . . . But it sure is a great shot!VL Link to comment
hogzilla 0 Posted June 24, 2004 Wow, I just keep starring at this. It is an amazing shot. I have looked at a lot of photographers work, and liked a lot. This is the fist photo I have commented on. This image captures so much. I just can't stop looking at it. Absolutely wonderful! Well done! Link to comment
venicia_l 0 Posted June 24, 2004 The wings seem to dip and sway, the plane seems to be moving closer and the dust cloud appears to billow if I stare at this image! Link to comment
Sandeha Lynch 5 Posted June 25, 2004 The pilot seems to be shouting something ... :-) Link to comment
mariusz adamski 0 Posted June 25, 2004 This dust is a smoke system. This aircraft belongs to the Polish Air Force Academy Demo Team Orlik. Link to comment
arashdejkam 0 Posted June 25, 2004 The best in your 'face to face' series so far, appreciate your courage, I would not take such a risk unless going to win a $1M prize for the shot :) Link to comment
