home page1 0 Posted June 13, 2004 Love this picture. Mixing sepia and a bright orange like this is really creative. And the details, color, and composition are great. Really nice work! Link to comment
asimh 0 Posted June 13, 2004 i am not so sure i like the mixing of sepia with a reddish/orange tone (to me they kinda clash). i think perhaps leaving everything in b&w and having only the trumpet in red would have been more striking. Link to comment
pawel_stradowski 0 Posted June 13, 2004 Definitely original and I like the first impression as I wasn?t sure if you edited colors out or if the guy was standing in front of a poster Cheers Link to comment
sarahunderhill 1 Posted June 13, 2004 I thought this was in front of a poster too...I think the tuba(?) player really stands out...and I'd like to see the original...I think he may still really stand out...or just desaturate the others just a little bit, add a little more color to them. But it's a great shot! More of your people of America series! Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted June 14, 2004 Very fun colors. He looks like he's wondering why you're taking a shot of him. lol. Fun processing. Link to comment
alecee 0 Posted June 14, 2004 I'd like to see the background in b/w with no fading as the tuba player already stands out in color. IMHO the faded sepia doesn't work well here because the boy in front who is faded will look artificial. That's why I suggest a normal B/W or sepia background. As it is - very lively and attractive composition, however I do detect some unfinished lasso work on the base of the yellow shirt. (Just nit-picking but I always like clean images Dion.) sarahunderhill 1 Posted June 14, 2004 I like the original too! But I think your original has a better look! Good work. Link to comment
pradeep1 0 Posted June 14, 2004 i like what you have done but the colored portion is overpowering the photograph, if it was a longer shot it would have been better IMHO cheers! Link to comment
ronnievalentine 0 Posted June 14, 2004 Good work in PS however, I'm in agreement that I'd like to see this as a B&W image or just color. The orange in the tuba is too advancing for the rest of the image in the sepia but it's good in the color. Great shot. Link to comment

ljk 0 Posted June 15, 2004 Have to compliment you on your creativity. But I can't decide if I like the effect! I think the boy in the foreground bothers me more than the contrast of the sepia and color. Nevertheless, I applaud you for your effort, and vision..... Link to comment
