Cold, From the Series 'Duwamish Valley', 2003

well. the thing i notice about this is the boarded up window (or so it appears to be). kinda interesting, but i wonder what you were trying to convey with the photo. it's neat tha the window sticks out because of its colour, but nothing else really compels me about the photo.

I had to look at this one for a fair amount of time to realize that this was actually a decent picture; well composed, mostly monochrome, blue with a touch of the complementary, yellow. I don't know what to think of your pictures from the series "Duwamish Valley". They're very good at expressing how painfully drab life can be. What is that place anyways?

 

The Duwamish Valley lies south of Seattle, Washington. The floodplain for the Duwamish or Green River, the sprawl of Seattle now calls this land home.

you have a great little portfolio going for you, i really dig your style.

thanks a lot bobby. it's frustrating posting these pictures among all of the 'ideal' landscapes and what not. "the lighting's bad, i'm giving you a 2/2", well yes, the lighting is bad, it helps convey the mood, effectively I think.

i have the same problem, i think many of the photographers (picture takers) dont look deep enough into the images. It becomes frustrating.
