I would appreciate suggestions for further improving the image

digitally. I have JASC Paint Shop Pro 8 as well as Adobe PhotoShop 6.

Thanks!

i actually prefer the inversion of this image. b/c of the size of the posted image, it's hard to see a lot of detail in the sculpture.

Thanks for your comments. I have uploaded two more versions at:

http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=2442498

http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=2442517

The first one is the cropped version of original pic. The second one has some editing work. I would appreciate your suggestions on them.

The major problem I faced with a fixed focus and auto-flash camera were:

1. No idea of how the actual frame and pic looked

2. Auto-Flash kept illuminating things

Any tips on how to improve the images in these conditions?

assuming you took this on film (no tech data giving), seeing how it comes out on film is one part experience and depending on the previous answer, the other part luck. i like the first link you posted there, but since the colors aren't adding anything to the shot really, i would have gone for an interesting contrast in b&w. but that's just my personal opinion. nonentheless, interesting subject matter!

Yes it was on film and I got it developed from a local photoshop. I will try to work on the b&w image as per your suggestion.

As for the subject, I guess I got lucky. It was supposed to be a souvenir. Interestingly, I got scolded for disturbing the peace thanks to the noisy on-camera flash!

The version on betterphoto.com is a better photo, but photo.net is still the best. LOL. Again, if you can't turn off the flash, try to bounce it in some way. See my comments on another photo of yours. Have fun.
