Due to the light composition, this picture is hard to manage. There is a huge contrast between shadows and highlights... and imho, the trunk is a bit too centered. If you enjoy working with high contrasts like this one, I suggest that you focus on easily readible subjects such as subjects :

-well defined with lines or curves

-normally having subtle tone changing (such as a human face, etc.)

Interesting perspective, although would have liked more depth of field to get the lower trunk sharp as well. Image looks a little 'washed out' but is pleasing.
