Birds over Fuji

I lived near Mt. Fuji for 3 years and never got as nice a shot as

this,taken on a clear winter day from Tokyo's north east corner more

than 100 miles from the mountain.

Nice light.

 

Shooting a fraction of a second earlier, with the left bird all with a sky background would have improved the shot.

 

Did you consider cropping part of the lower black foreground, to get a more harmonic horizontal view?

Wonderful graphic poster-like effect.I do agree with the suggestion of a foreground crop. As the birds are a major element in the composition, one ideally would wish for a better placement, but this is real life, one can't ask the impossible. You did very well, Jim. If I were more interested in the design and less in the authenticity of the shot, I would consider moving the birds in PS. I know, sacrilege...
