It's handled very well. Unfortunately, images such as this today tread a fine line between pleasing to those who admire simple beauty and getting the photographer in the clutches of those who see evil everywhere.

A lovely shot. I hope that your photo don't end up with a giant argument if a young girl should be "naked" or not. Look in my folder after my thoughtful and you see what I mean.

I just love the face of this girl and the pose is perfect.

Lovely subject, and a well realized concept. Just not sure about the crop at the bottom of the frame. The expression on her face is great, though.

I know that photography reveals just as much about the viewer as the photographer, but this photo seems to hint at child pornography in some slight way.

You mean all those photos my parents took of me as a child were really....you mean I was a... They wear us out here in Tennessee with that, Kathryn. We have a beautiful new(d) statue in Nashville, downtown in the center of Music Row. The artist placed a group of nudes in a circle facing outward, toward the driving circle. Now the local "Salemists" are moaning of the shame this has brought upon our fair city. The statue is beautiful, I'll be uploading a shot I took soon. I enjoyed your portfolio very much. Reminds of my boys when they first made their entrance.

This girl is just too old for the picture not to be slightly creepy. And in addition to that the picture is posed, while any other picture of a topless little girl would be spontaneous play, something she decided to do on her own. This girl was obviously told by an adult to take off her shirt and then told to sit and look sad while they shot away. I don't see pornography in it, but there is just something creepy about it. That is all I meant by my comment. It's the subjugation that is apparent in her eyes that bothered me. I have a young son and I would never want to see this expression on his face. I get the same feeling from Edward Westons photos of his son Neil. Sorry you misunderstood me.

Stephen, I think we understand you quite well.

So precisely at what age do you start to look at children that "creepy" way?

How do you know? It's impossible to tell from this picture, but she seems young enough to run around topless on a hot day.

And, by the way, from her expression it would have been useless to tell her anything at that moment, she's obviously far away, lost in thoughts. The picture looks absolutely natural, I don't think you could direct a child into this mood.

As for "look sad" and "subjugation that is apparent in her eyes": If you see such things in this picture it makes *you* creepy, not the picture, because *in the picture* there is no such thing!

It should actually bother you if you never see your son lost in thoughts...
