Guest Guest Posted May 13, 2004 I lack sufficient terminology to adequately describe this. It simply blows me away! **7/7 ** I'll just leave it at that. -s Link to comment
mike_pucher 0 Posted May 13, 2004 I think that this is a great portrait. Critically speaking, I think that the subject needs just a little bit of fill on the dark side of his face. Perhaps it is just my monitor, but I can't tell where his face stops and the background starts. It needs just enough fill to show some texture and a little detail. When I am using dramatic lighting in the studio, I usually like to have my fill at 3.5-4 stops, I think subtle fill would add a lot to this shot. Also, I think that the thick black border isn't the best choice for this image. It obscures the cropping and blends too much with your image; I had a hard time finding the edge on the left side. hugh_hill 0 Posted May 13, 2004 These look much better Piotr as I was straining to see all the details in the slides. I would love to see the one where he appears ('IS') grief stricken and will look forward to seeing more from the same batch. ps I see what you were saying about using light & lack of to play with the colour intensity. lars raun 0 Posted May 13, 2004 wonderful portrait! Reminds me alot of the golden age oilpaintings. All it needs is a heavy ingraved golden wooden frame :-) I'm envious of your fantastic skills. Link to comment
