Amazing! But it would be even better without grass on foreground. Sky seems interesting, maybe more of it would make dramatic contrast.

Best of the portfolio in my opinion. The lighting is excellent. Imagine you stayed the night or figured a way to hike at night? Not. great image, great dedication. Did you try a shot without the foreground weeds? I think I might have preferred it. Looks like you cropped a lot anyway from the top or bottom. The clouds are so special and make me think this was an evening shot?

Thsi is such a beautiful image in every way. The color, lighting, and copposition leave no room for improvement. 7/7 does not do justice. Congrats for a job well done.

It's hard to understand how one might not be moved by such natural and facinating beauty.

In case we forget how alive our planet is, we can always be reminded simply by viewing wonderful photo's such as this.

Love the contrast of the sky against the formation. I can see at various times of the day you could get even more color out of the land. I look forward to seeing more.

Amazing image! The horizontal line on the rock form, presumably caused by water, seems like it should be more horizontal (same with your stunning pictures of Goosenecks). You have an excellent portfolio, with great shots of stunning natural beauty.

Amazing that you're the first person that noticed that, and so easily fixed in PS. Thanks for the kind comments - Bill

A very nice image that is improved by a cropping to the top of the longest branch at the bottom of the picture. This then produces a very pleasing square format image. I don't think I would try to correct the sloping horizontal crack, as it would spoil the overall composition.

In case you're interested William, I have an picture of this formation in my small portfolio on this site. It's also a square image!

This photo is excellent. The colours, the shapes/lines, the dark, contrasting sky. I like the grass in the foreground (yeap, even there is life...) Nothing more to add. Seven points out of seven.

I would have went with a horizontal format from where you were shooting. Maybe move several feet to the left and get in front of the puddle (if it was there) so there are no distracting branches. By moving to the left, you would have filled up the horizontal frame. Also, add a little more of the "wave" on the ground to the left in the shot so it "flows better". And finally, the image you have here is slightly tilted counter clockwise.

It's refreshing to see a straight rendition of our environment on Photo.net. We're increasingly dealing with ridiculous Photoshop distortions, which are anti-environmental. You've done a beautiful job, and honestly captured wonderful light.

That's a very rewarding place to hike.

I totally agree with John Kelly. I would love to see this first hand, but at least I can see the real thing here. It would destroy the image, but I'd love to see this with a person near the bottom in order to get some perspective of the size of this. Great image, don't worry about cropping or anything else. This is a winner.
