belvin 1 Posted May 2, 2004 Yet another shot of the second Wave, taken from a perspective I haven't seen before. As always comments are greatly appreciated. Link to comment
micheleberti 0 Posted May 2, 2004 It's a great composition with great colours. I would only have cropped this pic without the distracting branchs on the bottom of the shot. Well done. Link to comment
belvin 1 Posted May 2, 2004 Thanks, you may be right, I usually don't like square format pictures but maybe it works here. I have some landscape versions without the branches, I will post one for critique in a few days. Link to comment
ajit_rozario 0 Posted May 2, 2004 I would prefer having the greenery at the bottom removed. Link to comment
foureyes 3 Posted May 2, 2004 this photo is so clean-perfect in composition that my eye wants to see 'no' greens at the bottom of the image (picky)....great photo !!!! Link to comment
cristina_fumi 0 Posted May 3, 2004 beautiful waves! fantastic light! I must agree though with the cropping of the bottom green... Link to comment
erin.e 0 Posted May 3, 2004 I do not agree with the consensus to crop this image. The rock formation has a strange unearthly beauty, and could almost be an airbrushed artists impression of another planet, the foliage anchors the fact this surreal place actually exsists on earth. The directional lighting and time of day the image was taken also add much atmosphere and emphasise texture. Beautiful, don't change a thing Link to comment
ern_mainka 0 Posted May 3, 2004 I agree with Erin's comments above. It's better with the foliage at the bottom. Great shot and light. Link to comment
robert_mccolloch1 0 Posted May 3, 2004 Beautiful image. How do I get to this site from Page. I don't know Rock House Road. Thanks, Bob McColloch Link to comment
pradeep1 0 Posted May 3, 2004 absolutely wonderful photograph, kudos! i agree with foureyes about the foreground, ut is kind of distracting, but thats our opinion, it doesnt screw up the image so dont bother too much. cheers! Link to comment
belvin 1 Posted May 3, 2004 To get to the Wave you need to get a permit from the BLM, look up Coyote Buttes on the net and you will find the site to use to get a permit, which are hard to get. The Second wave is about .3 miles South of the Wave. The BLM can provide GPS coordinates to the Wave but will not tell you how to get to the second wave. House Rock Road is in Utah near milepost 26 on US 89, about 35 miles from Page. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted May 3, 2004 Great Composition and colors. The upper part ( sky) and the greens , are distructing beautiful range of the yellow family. Link to comment
someoneelse 1 Posted May 3, 2004 Just perfect, my only suggestion would be: cropp a bit of the bottem, then it is IMHO a complete presentation. But now I did say this, I saw more people suggest it. Link to comment
wilsontsoi 0 Posted May 4, 2004 ...love the tonality, subtle colors, side lighting, and composition. My vote is also to crop off the vegetation at bottom (without loosing the land formation behind it,) but for the sake of keeping PS to minimum, "as is" still works very well. Link to comment
ljk 0 Posted May 4, 2004 The wonder of nature, ripe for capture, and you were there to do it so well.... Link to comment
devotee 0 Posted May 4, 2004 Yes, lovely tones and colour subtlety. Just let down by the foreground vegetation. Perhaps next time pack a set of garden shears? Link to comment
fusion s 0 Posted May 4, 2004 Nothing to say... just wonderfull and really attractive color landscape. Sky compliments image as well! Link to comment
pennie_lou 0 Posted June 19, 2004 It is such a nice picture! May I know where it is? thank you! Link to comment
_dith_b. 0 Posted June 20, 2004 Superior light, but composition is a little sterile for me. Wider angle? Link to comment
