av8r 0 Posted July 20, 2001 This was taken in the under renovation lobby of a hotel. The sofas were tastefully flung around and the comics were funny. Please comment on the contrast/composition/camera angle and your comfort level - the four Cs of Photography. Link to comment
jeff_clark 0 Posted July 20, 2001 Quite pleasing to look. No complaints here. At first, I thought it was strang that the dark side of the image had a bright light hitting the newspaper, but finally realized that it's the light bleeding through. Great shot. See, you don't need a Hassy or Leica to do nice stuff. Link to comment
maderik 4 Posted July 20, 2001 I have an odd reaction to this image. I like the small version *much* better than the medium or large. When enlarged, the detail in the sofa fabric and newspaper become quite distracting. The backlit newspaper does not seem to "glow". I find this odd because so often on photo.net I want to see the images larger. So, on an abstract level I like the composition and lighting but feel let down by some of the business in the details. toni_paloheimo 0 Posted July 20, 2001 The soft light is nice! The "glowing" paper, paper silhouette, model's left hand, hair, sofas... Link to comment
ken_thalheimer 3,739 Posted July 21, 2001 Attention grabbing. I keep wondering what she's reading. Tough I would crop heavily on the left side. It's not needed. I'm still going to rate high for originality Link to comment
michael_chou 0 Posted July 25, 2001 I'm from Taiwan and apologize for my English in advance. It's interesting that this picture to me could be split into two sides. The (girl's) left side is a piece of dark newspaper with a light backround: the right side in contrast, is a "glowing" piece of newspaper in a darker backround. Nice composition with appealing tone. I agree the right side should be cropped more. Link to comment
