Have to look for the subject(s) of the picture too much. I think a better position would be oblique to their line of travel facing them.

Great work catching the moment, you also have composed the frame very well.

 

IMHO you would have been best to be on the other side of the track to use the sunlight. From the shooting angle you have used the subjects appear too dark because of the bright sky. On the other side of the coin you can use the bright sky to capture a silhouette of the airborne rider.
