greg_gibson 0 Posted July 18, 2001 I'm trying to make images that have appeal in the nature/art category, I'm looking for general comments and comments on composition, etc. Link to comment
av8r 0 Posted July 18, 2001 Greg, this pic has good composition, but the good exposure actually takes away from the scenery. To really appreciate this pic I had to turn up the contrast almost to the max and the brightness thereabouts. Then you see beautiful colors backgrounded by darker shadows, and the purple stalks pop out as well. Link to comment
bloq_henseith 0 Posted July 18, 2001 Really good job anticipating that water blur in the near foreground, I think that really adds to the overall composition of the photo. Link to comment
jennifercatron 9 Posted July 18, 2001 Well I also think that you could do something better with exposure. Maybe even using a reflector on the flowers in front would help pop something out. Also you might want to try using velvia for prints like these. Link to comment
sergei_pechersky 0 Posted July 18, 2001 The photo is a nice example of diagonal composition with a lots of details in all parts of the image. I like the soft mood that is created by the blured water flow and rounded rocks. The flowers in the foreground balance a small waterfall just right. Colors are pleasant and so is the lighting. Good job, Greg. Link to comment
vadim_makarov 0 Posted July 19, 2001 I feel an urge to shift a bit to the left and back up somewhat, then see if it makes composition tighter. I feel there is a bit too much free and uninteresting space (left rock on the bacground, too much of water surface). Nice shot. No thanks, I don't have space on my office walls. Link to comment
John G. 0 Posted July 20, 2001 Would I hang it on the wall?? Well, I'd put it on my bureau, but not quite on the wall, for about the same reasons as posted above. Link to comment

jimcrotty 0 Posted July 24, 2001 Greg - Good job with exposure and depth of field focusing. You caught some good light for this scene. Link to comment
