dhawks 0 Posted April 22, 2004 This is a terrific use of light and, obviously, the wide angle perspective. But, what I think makes it soar is the underlying simplicity of the subject matter. My hat is off to you. Link to comment
mikeseb 0 Posted April 22, 2004 Looking at the photo, which I like, I find myself wondering...with that awesome horizon and reflected buoyant clouds,is the starfish in the foreground a bit too much, perhaps a little contrived? A matter of personal taste--no criticism of the technical beauty of the image. Link to comment
anthony_m1 0 Posted April 22, 2004 with that awesome horizon and reflected buoyant clouds,is the starfish in the foreground a bit too much, perhaps a little contrived? In my opinion, No. I would not like this photo nearly as much without the starfish. It adds great balance and turns a nice photograph into a great photograph with strong elements. Link to comment

svein-frode 0 Posted April 23, 2004 Cool and refreshing wide angle landscape! Good to see something else than the repetitive wildflowers and rocks in the foreground! I wonder how you managed to make the reflection in the water lighter than the sky? That is impossible by the laws of physics... just thought I should let you know that when using NGDs you need to be careful. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted April 23, 2004 Beautiful, and set apart by the level of originality. A new take on timeless subject matter. Great job. -s Link to comment
wilsontsoi 0 Posted April 23, 2004 ...the starfish and its surrounding water surface, by mean of an ultrawide focal length, are what make this image "different" from any other typically already beautiful sunset images. Great depth. The almost completely black forground, and the sky that's darker than its reflection, do make the image look a bit weird. Very nice nevertheless. Link to comment
or_sachs 0 Posted April 23, 2004 looks like the starfish is the only witness to the 'fire' , amazing shot. Link to comment
cristina_fumi 0 Posted April 23, 2004 beautiful shot and the starfish starts the depth of it. Colors are fantastic as well. Link to comment

jerry lee 0 Posted April 23, 2004 Bernie, way to go, and as far as the guy who said the star was too contrived, we have an expression for that( Ive heard them say it in "Deadwood" on HBO. HA ! without the starfish, it would be just another picture. later Link to comment
