Thanks Walter for taking the time to find my portfolio and comment on it. I have no idea how you found it with all the images to view. I truly appreciate it. I'm glad you chose a few favorites. I'm very interested in seeing which are theshots people enjoy most. It will help me decide which ones to enlarge. This girl and the Sadhu are 2 of my favorites also. Don't worry, the kids are only playing. They live next door. My ancient computer isn't allowing me to move around the site much but I saw and enjoyed your landscapes very much. Hope to try more of them myself one day soon. Thanks!

Discovered this young girl and her friend playing in a brickyard in South India one morning. Would appreciate your comments. Thanks.

After going thrue your p-folio, i was kind of looking for a favorite but there just isn't ONE that I prefer. Most of them are very good and I would have liked to take some of these shot myself. Great composition for that one! Great light. The eyes!!! Is one of my favoriteS.

Hi Cathy, first of all I would like to suggest you to make your choice upon your personal taste and needing, do not depend on the judgement of people because you must express your own point of view! This shot is very good, and from the thumbnail I was fooled too and thought that these kids were working...have you seen national Geo reportage on Parias? anyway the little girl look doesn't seem the one of a kid playing, sincerely! Light is very good too.

what about a B&W version ? would it help us just looking at her emotions or her eyes ? the guy in the background is looking at you, i am not sure what he should be doing or whether he should have been asked to move out of the frame but aesthetically he's balancing girl's figure but m not sure what role he plays or may be it doesnt matter...i dont have any suggestion in particular, i am just reacting !

cheers

very well done. Pannin g back a few feet may have made a more effective context, but this also works as it is.

beautiful photo and gorgeous light...

i notice that in most of your portraits the people are not smiling.

did you direct them not to or were they just being natural?

they feel much more authentic then the usual fake-smile photos.
