mel_quiades 0 Posted July 14, 2001 I am fairly new to SLR photography and would like to know from some more experienced photographers what you do and don't like about this picture. Link to comment

mark_leemen1 0 Posted July 16, 2001 Surely the exposure location was the south-east corner of the intersection of 42nd Street and 6th Avenue! I am looking at it now from my office window. Link to comment
mel_quiades 0 Posted July 16, 2001 Thanks for your comment, Mark. I'm not from NYC, so I got the address wrong, somehow. Link to comment
mark_leemen1 0 Posted July 17, 2001 I should add that I like the picture - it's very atmospheric. I would crop out the lower part, though - the underexposure of the foreground works well for the silhouetted figures, but not for the snow patch, which, to my eye, detracts from the composition in any case. You hardly need it to convey the feeling of the scene - the mist, slick road and huddled figures do the job quite well enough. Link to comment
