I'd like to see it half drunk!!! You are an Aussie after all - the plonk don't last long....how many bottles we plan to cellar but boy do we enjoy a good young drop - it never lasts long enough to get old!!! I like the feel of this though and the warm earthy colours - a glint or reflection on the knife would good too. I love the old worn table top!

And then there was me.....I really don't care....now Bikes, that IS another matter, Norton.....All the way ! So, Knicki, do you like this one or not ? (Four glasses or Red here !, and you young lady, are past your bed time !)*R*

How sweet it is, two nice ladys looking at my "Cave"......Chasing the possums out tonight.....did you see my shots of cars from Ballarat love ? (Geese, kissed as a picket...)*R*

Fine Art.....guess that is where this goes, or could be Nature as

well...you tell me what you think. The shot was to show a client his

knife, and this version did not show the pattern on the blade, and

was thus rejected for that use, but thought is might be entertaining

to the PN crew....*R*

The knife and watch pose sort of oversetup the composition for me. Making it feel a little too cluttered. Good style and concept though

You need to read a bit more, the reason the shot was taken was to include the knife....Ok, the watch, my Grandfathers, in there for luck, too much you say, point well taken ! *R*

A real 'man' still-life. I did follow you before with Hunter Gatherer, something in color and one in B&W. I think. It is a nice composition, but the top you have been blurring ( or whatever you call it, that's my handicap in english) but you understand me I think, is messily ( if this also good english i don't know) done.

Yes, the background has been blured, and not to well I must add, cleaver of you to see that....tried to hide bad efforts with the smear tool, and your English is better than my understanding of ANY other language, using only one language and that one badly !{^; *R*

Hey, it's guy stuff...it's not arranged (is it?) Drink half the 'blottle', stick the knife in the wood and a shooter glass knocked over...then it'll look like some guys tables that live here in the city. It's good stuff these man photos Roger.

Boy...gun, knife, booze...dangerous combination, don't cha think? Don't try this at home!

Re: compo. I like the elements. Good textures and subjects with which to work, but overall as a still life, it doesn't quite pull together. If the intention was to showcase the knife, a simpler approach would've been my choice. But, hey! I'm not a guy! Maybe the macho mix moves males.....-))

Needs ammo, hook, line, and sinker, too. :-)))

Anyway, I wanted to thank you for your comment on one of my portrait images regarding the improvised flash lighting I used. Lighting a still life is perhaps more of a challenge since unwanted reflections and harsh shadows can be distracting in any composition. - best, Gary

Gary, the Shotgun is Blackpowder so there really is no ammo, but could have included the powder horn and such, but this is the simple version.

Linda, not a statment, just comfortable images for a bloke, the wine perhaps would be better to be whisky, but I rather like my odd drop of Plonk, sooooo *R*

Just wanted to thank you Rog .... I like this Hunter - Gatherer series to the point it motivated me to pursue an idea I've had for awhile along similar lines ..... Hope to upload the 1st one this weekend ...... these might look good as B&W's as well. Appealing as is - very hard to 'pose' these guys and not have them look posed - an art unto itself perhaps.
