i know this isn't a very sharp scan. the lens wasn't very sharp, no mirror lockup, and ripples moved the skeleton moved during the 4 second exposure. please comment.

I am requesting a critique for this only because it has been viewed over 1100

times in 5 days and i don't know why. Please comment, the number ratings

don't tell me much.

Very good composition virtually ruined by a lack of sharpness. As a thumbnail, it sure looks exteremely interesting, that's why everybody wants to check it out. As a side note, some of my images, for some uncanny reason, get viewed an unusually high number of times, while other ones that I think may be better, get stuck at 1000+.

Anyway, it is a darn shame this really interesting, philosophically-charged, even poetic image isn't sharp. Can you rescan it maybe?

I don't subscribe to the theory that everything has to be sharp. Softness here seems entirely appropriate, after all it's the idea of the skeleton that is required, not detail of every vertebra.
