smhickel 0 Posted March 13, 2004 Thanks. It is difficult to get a feel or the size of the cross. I wonder if it is taller? Well, I looked it up. It is 190'. Oddly, it turns out there is another cross 198' in Effingham, IL that is yet taller. http://www.thom.org/gallery/statues/ILEFcross/ Can you find out and let me know the height of the cross you highlighted? ;-) Tnx, Steve Link to comment
bill1664877644 0 Posted March 16, 2004 I've driven past this thing many times. You can see it at least 10 miles away. Very funny to see this while traveling through the very boring Great Plains. I believe it is made of aluminum siding made for grain silos. Besides this one off of I-40, I've seen another off of I-75 in Tennesse. Link to comment
