robertpastierovic 0 Posted May 17, 2007 Everything for me ends in the dead space on the right bottom. I would clone and put there a tree to fix it :) It's too heavy on the left side IMHO. Link to comment
vad plashevsky 0 Posted May 17, 2007 Not the strongest one which author possesses in his arsenal, but nevertheless it makes you stop, concentrate, think, look carefully. If it's done subconsciously in the first place - no doubt, the image is striking. It's very good aesthetically, but from technical point of view I pesonally don't like what's in the lower right corner. It's out of the common rhythm, and it's a bit distracting. I'd move to the left a little so that the row of trees on the left could also be visible. All in all, I like the way Gérard sees environment and I'm personally one of his numerous admirers. mriy 0 Posted May 18, 2007 I find this really wonderful. It is much different from the others in the portfolio, but in a refreshing way, I think it may be the best in the bunch. This gives me an old and very comforting feeling, like something that might grab me from a dusty old photography book and make me take notice that here is someone who knew what he or she was doing without fooling around too much with what they were given. The balance doesn't bother me in the least, nor does the bright spot, these give it a very spontaneous, unstructured design that isn't contrived and overwrought. Link to comment
jdudley 0 Posted May 18, 2007 I really like the shot. Sure, if you look at every pixel, you may find a thing here or there you would take out or change, but I like that it's not sterile and overly-produced, as so many shots end up being. This one has interesting graphic lines to it, obviously, and I love the overall balance of light/dark and the tones in between. I think it's fantastic. Beautiful doesn't have to be perfect or sterile or neat, even though this one is pretty darn neat. Nice job, and great portfolio. Link to comment
bw1664881174 0 Posted May 19, 2007 Love the feeling of old style of B&W, not over produced. You could print this, frame it and look at it time and again. Solid. Link to comment
alexb_paris 0 Posted May 20, 2007 at least it's again a "one picture" PoW and not a montage of more than one :) other than that very pleasant and graphical with a great original pov Link to comment
stefan dimov 0 Posted May 20, 2007 Love it! I find it unusual and as a whole I believe thinking out of the box has come into play. Guys, enough of that 'does not obey the rules stuff' waving at each creatively thinking artist. Link to comment
ken_thalheimer 3,739 Posted May 20, 2007 I bothered by the right side, particularly the lower right where the image appears to drop off into an empty void Link to comment
rnandwana 0 Posted May 22, 2007 I agree to Carl. The power line above the tree crown is lighter and so is the the third one from right hand corner. Neverthless its still a beautiful frame! Link to comment
BelaMolnar 2 Posted September 26, 2007 Dale! Your explanation for those individuals, are correct. Noting can be done, to improve on this image. The image is perfect, you folk like it or not. No technical in-perfection, power line, tower etc.!!! Some people has to learn "perspective" and "lens distortion".! It is a graphic image with a message. I personally do not liked so match, but at an artistic point, it is perfect. Some of you gays, better get a new, beter monitor. Link to comment
