A promo shot for a local um.....er.....ahhhh...dancer?

 

Actually, a complete sweetie to photograph.

 

Was shot for a promo poster.

 

 

We were after a 1950's "Pinup" feel.

She went out to a consignment store and bought the entire wardrobe

for the shoot.

A dedicated professional.

Now if I can just figure out what to do with her BOYFRIEND. ;>)

Actually a very cool, young, guy.

Ahh well.

First of all, where is she appearing?!?

She is stunning, and does have the old-school burlesque look rather than the 19-year old hip-hop fake boob types which are about as sexy as a wet rag. nice promo, it makes me want to go see her dance. Had she been completely naked it wouldn't have worked-- good to leave a little for the imagination.

It was a simple High Key shot.

F8 Incident light metering on the girl, F16.5 Reflected off the background.

Then meter the floor from just in front to the back wall above her head to make sure it all spotmeters the same.

Clean whites is what you're after.

An 1800ws White Lightning in a 54" Photoflex Soft Box on her.

2 600's on the background.

Keep it simple.

She dances in Calgary guys.

The mood makes the shot. Very nicely done. She is very attractive, but it's a pity she felt the boob job was necessary...

The shoes! I think the shoes and the chair make the shot. The gloves help, but the shoes . . . outrageous.
