j._scott_schrader 0 Posted March 5, 2004 The behavior itself is quite interesting. The composition is however a bit static. The eye is too close to the center of the frame for my tastes. I am distracted by the twig and the leaf in the foreground ...being a wildlife photog myself I do understand how difficult it is to get this type of shot without the distracting elements. The blue color (I assume it is a tag ...meaning the bird is either captive or part of a study) just doesn't fit in with all of the other tones/colors in the photo. It continues to pull my eye away from the eye and the beak carrying its prize. I'm not one for cropping normally, (...I compose everything in camera) but I think this could be a stronger image as a very tight crop around the birds' head. Nonetheless, an interesting behavioral shot. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted March 6, 2004 Poor little mouse! The aesthetics of this shot are not good. Dead baby mice, yuck. Sorry but that is my opinion. Good shot though, too bad it wasn't a full grown rat or something:) Link to comment
shadow-island 0 Posted March 6, 2004 Since I see no cage around this foul, I seriously doubt he/she is a pet thus a degree of diffuculty getting a clear/focused shot. Some of the greatest prize winners have turned stomachs upside down. Good job on capturing less than tasteful moment. Link to comment
