A small treausre I would say. I will admit that it is a cold photograph with warm tones. I find it hard to emphatize with it. Then on the other hand, it grabs one's attention albeit in a formal way. While I rated the photo high on aesthetics, personally it feels like an alienation photo.

My wife says that this cannot possibly be the Strand, because there are shadows of trees. After a bit of detective work, we think that it is the Victoria Embankment at the junction with Savoy Street, taken from Waterloo Bridge, so the caption could be Waterloo Sunset. Also, I have the wrong date. It should be late 60s.

Thanks for the comment Hulki. You have given me an idea.

Very good shot. I like the composition and the mood. I would be very interested in seeing this as a b&w to see if the colour really adds to the image or not.

Still very good.

Superb subject, exposue, shadow details, and balance of light and dark...but the composition needs to be more strict.. There is too much uninteresting foreground, and it is not required to balance or harmonise with the subjects and their shadows. My preference would be to crop bout a quarter off of the bottom...still leaving sufficient ground below the shadows to make it...

In those times, only women wore skirts, so it is very definitely a she. The thing in the middle of the road is, I think, technically called a pedestrian refuge. It has two traffic lights, and one street lamp.

Obviously, it is impossible to get this image today, because there would be cars all over the place.
