"Belle de Jour (Rue Blondell)"

 

My wife is a singer/songwriter who sometimes collaborates with a musician living on Rue Blondell in Paris. This scene was suggested by the imagery in her song about the working women she encounters en route to his studio.

 

For lighting, I borrowed a little holy glow from Ken William's recent chapel photo. Initially, I was going to have it streaming through the archway. But the spectral light seemed even more effective coming through an empty concrete wall. A bit unconventional, but to my eye, it works. Anyone know the year?
