wingell 0 Posted February 7, 2004 This charming lighthouse was built in 1879 at Cape Neddick on the Maine coast. Your comments and critiques are welcome. Thanks for looking. Bill Link to comment
srl 0 Posted February 7, 2004 It's a great pic, so please take my comments lightly. Ideally I'd like to see the foreground/background not split so evenly across the center. I realize your kind of forced into that by the light tower on right. The other nit I'd say to try and fix at the same time, is that you are not capturing the flag very well. It looks like the flag is waving directly at us. I'm wondering of you could walk just a bit to the left of where this shot was taken.. say 20 yds or so and get down low to the ground and perhaps catch the flag and change the horizon all at the same time. Real nice shot though and makes me want to pack my camera and go to Maine. Link to comment
wingell 0 Posted February 7, 2004 Thanks for the comments, Steven. My recollection is that the flag was not waving at all (a billowing flag would have been nice!), and I was rather limited in my positioning inasmuch as I was standing at the edge of an embankment overlooking a rocky lagoon. It really is a wonderful location--York is a cute town well worth a visit after viewing the lighthouse. Link to comment

michaeldaggett 4 Posted July 29, 2007 I think I read somewhere that this is the most photographed lighthouse in the US. I have a copy of it in my portfolio, just like so many others. Great job! Link to comment
