robertbrown 1 Posted January 12, 2004 Comments, ratings on b&w horse--the highlights burned out a bit here, even though it was gloomy gray day. Thanks. Link to comment
jennifercatron 9 Posted January 12, 2004 Great tones on this, and I love the contrast. Beautiful piece of work. Nice to see something that defies the laws of photography and still comes out on top. Nice job. Link to comment
linda_stanton1 0 Posted January 12, 2004 Great photograph! I find the white areas of the sky visually distracting from the horse, post and wire. I would like to see those areas darker so my eye does not wonder from what is important in the foreground. Great tones in this black and white. Link to comment
rjacksonphoto 0 Posted January 12, 2004 Beautiful shot. The weathered post, barbed wire, and barren pasture contrast well with the almost mystical-appearing white horse. I think you've held the detail in the whites admirably well while still allowing the horse to glow. Link to comment
koval 0 Posted January 13, 2004 well spoted subject for bw shot. Iam not an expert but if I was to suggest somethng : I would try to avoid placing an important element (horse head in this case ) over any long/ visable / important geometrical element ( horizon line ) Just a suggestion . Best Regards PK . Link to comment
robertbrown 1 Posted January 13, 2004 Piotr, I would say you are something of an expert, since your portraits are consistently among the best on this site and this is essentially a portrait. Thanks for your suggestion. I may return to this spot. There were actually three friendly white horses: perhaps I can bribe them with carrots and apples. Link to comment
sarahunderhill 1 Posted January 14, 2004 Very nice photo. It's not a bad thing to go back to a place and shoot again! Link to comment
terry_mccully 0 Posted January 14, 2004 I like this shot... there is nothing that I can say constructive about it... but... I like the two in the holga shot a way more... way more feeling.... but this stands great alone as it is here ! ! ! Link to comment
