bram meijer 0 Posted January 10, 2004 How do you create such great atmospheres? Really very nice. Bram Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted January 10, 2004 thanks mike. regards Colin Bram, wow, difficult question. About landscape (and architecture) pictures : To me atmosphere is about capturing the way light touches and defines things. So it is a matter of waiting for the right light. Of course sometimes one can just be lucky. Most of the landscapes with 'atmosphere' here on PN were taken either early morning or late evening or in unusual weather conditions because the light is interesting - good shadows etc. So I suggest you pick something near where you live and wait for the right moment. Hope this helps! Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted January 10, 2004 Well, I was going to mention the atmosphere in this composition, but I noticed everyone else already did. It's a very calming image with nice lighting and pleasing colors. Link to comment
alberto.conde 0 Posted January 12, 2004 As Kim says all the others have already commented on the atmosphere. I support that comment togethet with my admiration for your work. Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted January 12, 2004 Thanks Kim and Alberto. It is good to share with so many excellent and generous photographers here on PN and I do appreciate your comments. regards Colin Link to comment
Sandeha Lynch 5 Posted January 23, 2004 These winter woodlands are 'instant nostalgia' for me with the subtle colour schemes and strong lighting contrasts. I think they warrant better scans, or maybe just more refined sharpening. Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted January 23, 2004 Sandeha, thanks for commenting. My techniques for scanning and PS work are fairly rudimentary at present. I hope things might improve as I get more practice. Link to comment

saulzelan 0 Posted October 17, 2004 Beautiful! I'm more of a fan of square format, of course; I find it much more expressive. Very nice job in this image, I like your personal and individual interpretation of the landscape. Link to comment
