atle.g 0 Posted January 7, 2004 Is it just boring or does it have something going? Your honest opinion would be most appreciated. Thanks!! Link to comment
jonathan_sacks1 0 Posted January 7, 2004 Terrific picture. I love the emptiness. The distant tree is like an echo of the first. Good use of empty sky, which is generally a no-no. If I were to pick 2 tiny things I would improve if possible, they would be 1) ability to see more of the tree shadow, which feels truncated, and 2) to adjust the vantage point slight to the left so the distant tree would not overlap ("merge") into the distant mountain. Still, a striking and excellent photo! Link to comment
richard van hoesel 0 Posted January 7, 2004 I like the idea that the distant tree looks a bit like a sibbling of the foreground one with the shadow reaching between them. I can't decide if the empty sky enhances a solitary mood here or if it is indeed a bit 'boring' (maybe a moon in the sky would help?). I guess all up not as good as say your "Guardian Of The Sky" image along these lines but it has its merrits. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted January 7, 2004 I love the way the shadow of the first tree seems to lead to the second tree. Great vision! Great work! Link to comment
kyang 0 Posted January 8, 2004 I love this one. Great use of the shadow and the perspective. The emptyness really works very nicely to me. I like the contrast between the sky and the snow. Atle, like many of your other works, your photo really inspires me in many ways. Link to comment
1000wordsphotography 0 Posted January 8, 2004 The little tree is saying... wait for me... I am coming! It looks like it is out of a story book. Like it very much. Link to comment
slide 0 Posted January 8, 2004 Atle, definitely not boring! I'd say it's up there with your best shots, which says a lot. -slide Link to comment
stp 6 Posted January 8, 2004 Yes, it definitely has something going for it. I really like the two trees....the first one (with greater detail) tells us something about the second one in the distance. I also like the empty blue sky. In my mind the only thing I'm trying to do with the image is to remove the distant hill; I think (but I'm not sure) that the added simplicity would contribute to the image, at least by my preferences. If I did that, I might want to add just a bit more snow at the bottom. Just possible variations on a very nice image. Link to comment

harry eggens 0 Posted December 17, 2004 ....picture Atle. Excellent composition. What I like most in this beautiful image is the shadow of the tree in the foreground, wich is pointed at the smaller looking tree in the background. Very well seen and excecuted....Best regards, Harry Link to comment
