I know one of the rules of compositon says don't put the horizon in the middle of the frame, but its position seems to be dictated by the rest of the composition. If you lower the horizon, you lose the foregroungd and the depth it gives the photo. If you raise the horizon, the sun will be too near the top, you will lose the interesting pattern of the branches, and may include unwanted foreground. I think this photo is the "exception that proves the rule". Very nice use of your "new toy". Link to comment
