Moving Without Walking

Tripod, f11, 1 second, medium orange filter. Taken in the opening portico of the National Archives. Tourists and kids pouring in and out, few paying attention to what they had seen or why they were there. Bodies moving without thought.

RJ, I like the photo very much. I think that if you made it a portrait, and framed it so that one of those large columns was your main background, you'd get a more powerful effect.

Nice Job. Perfect exposure.

Good idea. Well executed. Something about B&W that keeps me coming back to it. 6/6 . Ditto the comment that the location has some portraiture possibilities. Try it & re-post. Best, LM.

Very nice composition, execution, and observation about the intelectual promiscuity of tourists. Don't know about the portrait stuff - i like it the way it is, underlining the timeless nature of stone on the *background* of passers by. Good work.

R.J. i've seen and rated your photos before. i was very attracted to these (blur series). now i know why... they somehow remind me of Degas studies. i know that this is a stretch but i can't seem to be able to think of anything other than dancers...

they are stand alone pieces but they would also be great as a backdrop for a contemporary dance show...

(now, please don't ask me to justify my opinion :-))
