michaellinder 16,613 Posted September 4, 2022 I would visit this world any chance I get. Yet, my concern is that I might stay there. Although I understand that you posed this glorious image in ?Macro," to me it has an abstract look and feel. Link to comment
gregverena 389 Posted September 4, 2022 Hi Michael- nice to hear from you- me thinks you see quite a lot through an "abstract" lens, according to your postings :) yet, this is so very real, just not normally in our plane of reality...Thanks! Link to comment

Giangiorgio Crisponi 656 Posted September 5, 2022 Bravi Gregory and Verena, a spectacular image, a magnificent close-up with an excellent contrast of complementary colors orange and green, ciao Giangiorgio Link to comment
vincentoiseau 83 Posted September 6, 2022 Hi G & V, this is otherworldly indeed! The lichen and mosses are as interesting as flowers in their diversity in shape. Colors look very nice; I was wondering if you considered shooting this with more DoF, at least in the foreground. Kind regards, Vincent Link to comment
gregverena 389 Posted September 6, 2022 Franz and Giangiorgio - thanks so much - this was the last light shining on the rail till the sun moved out of position. Vincent-this was shot at f-18, and would have liked to have everything in focus, but was running against the disappearing light- I was pretty close to it. I might try again if we ever get any sun again :) Link to comment
vincentoiseau 83 Posted September 7, 2022 Hi G & V, if you do get any sun again and it's not windy, you could use focus stacking as a way to get (almost) everything in focus. Five or six pictures at f11 easily yield satisfactory results, with shorter shutter speeds (less motion blur) and stacking is pretty easy with today's software, so it wouldn't take much extra time.
