vincentoiseau 83 Posted August 16, 2022 Hi TmJ, great pose and eye contact in this photo! I see you used the Canon here again, do you switch systems depending on what you think you'll be shooting? Kind regards, Vincent Link to comment
tm_j 30 Posted August 16, 2022 Thanks Greg & Verera! It sure is a nice pose and it might have been better if my camera can shoot faster than 10fps. But, that's all I can get out of this 9 years old camera. Link to comment
tm_j 30 Posted August 16, 2022 Merci Beaucoup Vincent! I use the OM-1 + m.zuiko 100-400mm when the birds are near to me and I can fill the frame. That's the trick to get good quality images from 4/3 system (since the sensor is small, one can not crop much without loosing quality). I use the Canon in cases where I know it's too far for the 800mm reach of the m.zuiko 100-400mm. Even though both the Canon 7D Mark II + EF 500mm F4 & OM-1 + m.zuiko 100-400mm both produce 800mm POV, one is a 1.6 cropped sensor and other is a 2.0 cropped sensor. To me, the 800mm POV on 4/3 is more like 550mm and only the m.zuiko 150-400mm F4.5 lens with a built-in 1.25x TC = 1000mm POV is a match to the Canon 800mm. But, that's a $7500 solution, LOL! and I already have my 7D II + EF 500mm F4 IS. The down side is the 7D II does not have eye/bird tracking like the OM-1 and slower in focus. The upside is ... it's free since I already own it (8+ years for 7D II & 12+ years for the EF 500mm F4 IS). On of these days, I will get an R5 or R7 when the price is right though. Link to comment
