Little town in Berchtesgaden

Wonderful light hitting this town and its surroundings. Shot handheld using a Canon EF-S 17-55 mm 2.8 lens.

In 2009 we visited Berchtesgaden, a region in southern Germany close to Austria. One of the things I remember the most is the quality of the light, often visible between showers of rain that are very frequent (hence the lush green on the mountains). Unfortunately I can't remember which town this is (Maria-Gern?), but it had all of the elements that make up typical Berchtesgaden scenery. Your comments are very welcome.

Vincent, I suspect that images like this are why I started following your work. The mountains' detail and color provide the perfect backdrop for the village. Your shooting location clearly resulted in the high perspective; among other things the viewer can discern a variety of architecture and colors. Finally the large diagonal building and the smaller one in front and colors of it seem to point the way to something that isn't yet identifiable - a bit of mystery. - - My best always, michaeel

Hi Michael,

thank you for your great comments and for favoriting this photo! The inclusion of the buildings (or rather their roofs) in the foreground was intended as a way to lead the viewer's eye into the image. Kind regards, Vincent
