Torch swimming in the Maschsee, Hanover

Elaine, the people are really having a good time. There are around 100 people mainly from diving clubs. They go into the water with torches, beer and even grills to grill sausages. Great. Greetings, Franz

I have never seen or heard of torch-swimming before, so thanks for the introduction. The gentleman in the photo seems very content indeed; it looks like a fun thing to watch (and maybe to do yourself if you're brave enough to go into the cold water). Vincent, thank you for your kind comment. When I googled for that I was surprised in how many towns all over the republic people do torch swimming. It seems to be the number 2 sport after football ;o) Best regards, Franz
